[Photos] Check Out Saigon's Snazzy New Children's Hospital

A brand-new children's hospital in Saigon’s Binh Chanh District opened its doors on January 16.

According to Zing, the Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Hospital is the largest hospital project in the metropolis since 1975. It features 1,000 beds, a playground and different clinical and sub-clinical divisions, as well as research and teaching facilities. Located on an expansive lot on Vo Tran Chi Street, the new, modern hospital is also the first in the city to have nuclear medicine and radiotherapy departments that cater specifically to children.

Truong Quang Dinh, the hospital’s director, shared with Tuoi Tre that the facility spans an area of 1.4 hectares and cost VND4.2 trillion (US$187.5 million) to build. The new Binh Chanh medical facility is expected to greatly reduce the work load of two existing pediatric hospitals, which have become increasingly overcrowded in recent years.
