Get ready for an uptick in your blood pressure. ‘Flappy Bird’ is about to re-enter the world in a ‘less addictive’ form, according to the game’s creator, Dong Nguyen.
Amid rumors that he was raking in $50,000/day from in-game ads, Nguyen abruptly pulled ‘Flappy Bird’ citing its addictive qualities (which were confirmed when he received death threats for removing the app) and constant hounding by the press.
Tuoi Tre reports that Nguyen will not only re-release the app (and add multiplayer functionality) that made international headlines earlier this year, but is planning to develop “a lot of [new] games.”
We’ll see if the re-release will end the days of $100,000 auctions for iPhone’s with the app installed.
