Mastercard Brings Card Payment To Ben Thanh Market

Now you can use your credit card to buy fake DVD sets and crappy t-shirts at Ben Thanh Market.

The major credit card company joined forces with Sacombank to distribute 300 mPOS machines (credit card swipers), allowing vendors to accept card payments with their smartphones.

Arn Vogels, country manager, Indochina, MasterCard, says: "In Vietnam, limited acceptance is one of the key factors that hinders the development of electronic payments. Our collaboration with Sacombank extends the benefits of electronic payments to both merchants and consumers."

Mastercard: helping to rip off tourists faster than ever.
