Inspired by materials common found in rural Vietnam, the creative minds behind KIENTRUC O blended a contemporary office with traditional elements.
In Vietnam, one of the most prevalent trends in modern interior design is creating huge communal areas in structures, be it for residential or commercial projects. These open spaces are very effective in bringing about an airy, bright feeling to the room, a much needed improvement from the typical tube house layout that tend to be rigid and stuffy.
This office project, spanning 635 square meters, is commissioned by a multimedia firm in Saigon on the 21st floor of a high-rise. The challenge for the architects responsible for the design is coming up with a working environment that can accommodate four separate departments under one roof while leaving room for inter-department cooperation.
The final blueprint make extensive use of wooden dividers that section off the common space into separate but not isolated rooms. The entire floor also employs abundant wooden accents to evoke a warmness and rustic vibe.
