Vietnamese Exec Beats Caddy Unconscious. Keeps Golf Club Membership.

Even with its slow pace, golf can bring out your competitive side. A missed putt or journey to a sand trap can boil the blood of even the most patient player. But that’s no excuse to beat your caddy with a golf club, people! Nguyen Duc Son, director of a state-owned housing company did just that earlier this month in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.

On September 15, Son, general director of the Hanoi Housing Management and Development Company was playing a round at the Tam Dao golf course. When one of the caddies in his group gave him an “unnecessary reminder,” Son struck him in the head with his golf club in an “angry rage.”

Adding insult to injury, the caddy, Cong, wasn’t even his, but worked for another man in his group.

Son claims that the attack was unintentional and he just wanted to warn Cong with a gentile tap. In the head. With a golf club…

The poor caddy was knocked out cold, as one does when being struck in the head. With a golf club.

He was rushed to the hospital and has since recovered, according to his employer.

Son has been banned from the club for one year and a statement from the golf course said that Son will be permanently banned if he violates any other regulations in the future.
