A motorbike driver was killed in a freak accident involving his raincoat in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Sunday night.
The driver appears to have lost control of the motorbike while driving downhill when his raincoat became caught in the rear wheel. He crashed on a desolate road and suffocated in the raincoat, according to VnExpress.
The driver, 67-year-old Phan Tan Vu, died as a direct result of suffocation according to investigators, who added that the road was empty at the time of the accident and thus, no one was available to assist Vu.
Last year Scottish judo champion Stephanie Inglis was involved in a similar accident in Ha Long when her dress got caught in the wheel of her motorbike and she was dragged off. She was treated extensively for her injuries in Bangkok, and is expected to compete in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Mind your raincoats and hanging clothing on the streets, folks.
