In-town check-in service allows passengers to drop off their luggage before heading to the airport.

According to the Vietnam Airlines website, it is opening in-town check-in services in Hanoi and Da Nang. Passengers can finish their check-in procedure, select their seats, check their luggage and receive their boarding pass 12 to two hours before departure.

The in-town check-in counters will be available in Hanoi and Da Nang for domestic flights from Noi Bai and Da Nang airports. The in-town check-in counter in Hanoi, located at 20 Ngo Quyen Street, Hoan Kiem District, has been in operation since October 12. The service fee for each cabin baggage is VND150,000. The service in Da Nang will open in November at 156 Nguyen Van Linh Street, Thanh Khe District and will charge up to VND100,000 for each cabin baggage.

The in-town check-in service provided by the Vietnam Airlines Ground Services Limited Company (VIAGS), a subsidiary of the national flag carrier, is the first of its kind in Vietnam.

“Vietnam Airlines hopes this development will add significant value to our customers and enable us to reach [a] five-star status in the foreseeable future,” said Le Hong Ha, executive vice-president of Vietnam Airlines.
