Vietnam Beats Cambodia 3-0 to Advance to AFF Semi-Finals

The team topped Group A with 10 points and a clean sheet after four matches.

The Vietnam national men's football team's latest match against Cambodia on November 24 resulted in a 3-0 win for Vietnam, Zing reports. While Cambodia put up a solid defense for the first 30 minutes, in the 38th minute, forward Nguyen Tien Linh received a long ball from midfielder Trong Hoang from the right wing and scored Vietnam's first goal with a header.

Only three minutes after the first goal, Vietnamese players managed to score another goal, thanks to a cutback pass from left-winger Hong Duy to midfielder Quang Hai who snapped it in from outside the six-yard box.

In the second half, it only took the Vietnamese team 15 minutes to score another goal, this time from a long shot by Van Duc.

The victory means that Vietnam will advance to the knockout phase of the 2018 AFF Championship together with Malaysia, whose 3-0 victory against Myanmar won them a ticket to the semi-finals. Vietnam's next opponent is yet to be decided as Group B still has two matches left to go, all of which are held on this Sunday.
