Da Nang was recently recognized as one of the world's best places to travel in 2019.
The "Miami of Vietnam" was included in the newspaper's list of “52 Places to Go in 2019.” Da Nang, the third largest city in Vietnam, is also famous for its proximity to Hoi An's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Local landmarks like Non Nuoc Beach and the Marble Mountains were singled out as must-visits while the Times also showered mì Quảng with praise. "Don’t leave without sampling a bowl of mi quang, the justifiably famous local noodle soup made with a turmeric-infused broth, chicken, pork, local seafood and shredded cabbage, and available for about $1 at any number of street-food stalls," the description reads.
The Gray Lady gave the coastal metropolis points for its cuisine, as well as the numerous resorts along a breathtaking oceanic landscape. As a result, Da Nang is attracting growing numbers of tourists from around the world.
The city's airport was named as one of the fastest-growing in the world based on number of passengers by Routes Online. The facility welcomed 24.4% more passengers in 2018 than it did in 2017, according to the same article.
It isn't just the Times, singing Da Nang's praises. Finder, an Australian travel search site, wrote of the city: “Say ‘goodbye’ to Ho Chi Minh City and hello to Da Nang.” Furthermore, the website cited Skyscanner, a global travel search company, noted a 23% increase in searches for trips from Australia to Da Nang between 2017 and 2018.
Additionally, the flight route between Seoul and Da Nang is the fastest-growing flight path in Asia-Pacific in 2019, as reported by a recent Routes Asia study. In 2018, 71.2% more passengers traveled between Seoul and Da Nang than in 2017.
