The annual Geminid Meteor Shower will rain down on Earth this weekend and will be viewable in Vietnam at around 1am on December 14.
No special equipment is needed to view the Shower which, at its peak, can feature the streaking lights of up to 160 meteors per hour.
However, those of us in the south of the country may miss out on all the fun with the remnants of tropical storm Hagupit set to hit the region this weekend.
The shower, which is thought to be increasing in strength each year, is caused by object 3200 Phaethon, an asteroid that travels between Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.
As it gets closer to earth, debris from the asteroid fall into Earth’s atmosphere at 130,00km/hour creating this spectacular lightshow.
