Despite its intended role as a helpful conduit, Hanoi’s Xã Đàn – Ô Chợ Dừa intersection is one of the city’s most confounding crossroads.

Since it went into operation early in 2014, many vehicles have violated traffic regulations especially those who attempt to go from La Thành Street to Khâm Thiên Street since the new route makes the journey 10 times longer than before.

This video captures the absurd traffic on this intersection from above. One of the locals in the video complained that there were many misleading signs which served to confuse drivers, suggesting that they might violate traffic laws without realizing it.
