Should the need arise, Hanoi’s traffic police are now prepared to deliver a baby in the street.
Last week, the capital’s traffic cops brushed up on their first aid and midwifery skills, reports Zing. The three-day training instructed roughly 700 police officers in first aid so that cops will be equipped to handle heat stroke, traffic accidents and, if necessary, a woman in labor.
Prior to the training, police officers in Hanoi were not fully prepared to handle emergency situations and could only call for help. Officials hope that by applying basic first aid, traffic police will be able to assist victims and patients in such circumstances and potentially save lives.
