Within the rolling hills of Yen Bai Province sits Tà Chì Nhù, Vietnam's 6th tallest mountain at 2,979 meters.
Earning its surrounding environment the nickname, "the ocean of clouds," Tà Chì Nhù's peak rises above the cloud cover. The Thái minority group calls the mountain "Phu Song Sung" while the Mông call it "Chung Chua Nhà."
To scale this mountain, one must drive from Hanoi to Trạm Tấu then zigzag their way along the small roads to Xà Hồ village before an 8km ride to the foot of Tà Chì Nhù.
Based on these photos, it seems well worth the trip.
