According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), the repairs will focus on fixing runways at the country’s major airports including Saigon’s Tan Son Nhat, reports Thanh Nien.

The repairs will result in thousands of flight cancelations, with around 80 flights cut (out of 360 total) and 10,000 passengers unable to fly each day at Tan Son Nhat alone.

Further compounding the service cuts is a 20-30% increase in travelers who will go on summer vacation during the maintenance period.

The plan is expected to cost airports US$5.57 million and airlines $69.6 million.

If you have tickets booked during these months, it may be prudent to reconfirm them with your carrier.
