Tourists who are fond of Hue’s Imperial City but tired of central Vietnam’s scorching heat will be glad to learn that they can soon visit the tourist attraction at night.
Phan Thanh Hai, director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, told Tuoi Tre that beginning April 22, the Imperial City will open its doors to visitors from 7pm to 10pm in addition to its usual business hours during the day.
The new opening time will last until September 15. By implementing a new time frame for visitors, the center hopes that more tourists will be able to enjoy the historic venue at night. The proposed ticket price for night visits is VND120,000 for locals and VND150,000 for foreign travelers.
The news source also shared that in addition to opening the Imperial City at night, tourism officials are also arranging a host of activities catered to tourists, such as musical performances, religious offerings and martial arts re-enactments.
The Imperial City has become one of Hue’s most popular tourist attractions since it was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a World Heritage Site in 1993.
