Amazon Global Selling is a program for sellers and merchants to list their goods on Amazon's global e-commerce sites.
On January 15, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced their official collaboration with Amazon Global Selling, which will enable Vietnamese businesses to list their goods on Amazon, Tuoi Tre reports.
"In the ever-changing landscape of the global market, Vietnam has over 700,000 companies, 98% of which are small and medium enterprises; therefore, besides traditional commerce promotion methods such as trading, attending foreign trade fairs, e-commerce is also an important and necessary sale channel," said Vu Ba Phu, director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency.
Phu also mentioned that the agency and Amazon Global Selling will collaborate to provide different measures to support Vietnam's businesses to sell their products via Amazon such as providing information about export opportunities, training programs in e-commerce for business owners, providing support in redesigning product's packages, labels and exporting procedures.
Back in September 2018, Amazon Global Selling established a Vietnamese version of its website for sellers and an official Facebook page in Vietnam.
"Vietnamese enterprises are known for their top production capabilities and Amazon resources from around the world will help them develop and build brands in the international market," said Bernard Tay, director of Amazon Global Selling in Southeast Asia.
Tay emphasized that products such as handicrafts, textiles, apparels, leather, footwear and consumer goods will be the country's strength in the Amazon marketplace.
