When it comes to beans, Vietnam is best known for the mass-cultivated, coffee variety. On the other end of the spectrum is the cocoa bean, the central ingredient in chocolate, which is grown throughout the country’s Southern provinces.
This short video, “Somewhere In Vietnam,” shot by Matt Uhry and Sheigh Crabtree earlier this year, follows Marou Chocolate founders, Vincent Mourou and Sam Maruta on their trip through the Vietnamese countryside as they hunt for Vietnam’s best cocoa beans which offer distinctly different flavor profiles.
