Hanoi to Face Widespread Road Closures During Trump-Kim Summit

Both Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un are expected to arrive in Hanoi today for their historic second summit. Security will be tight, and over the next few days, numerous roads in the capital will be closed.

According to Zing, Hanoi authorities will be banning any vehicles transporting potentially dangerous items, and certain roads and highways will be closed at specific times during the course of the summit.

From 7am to 1pm on February 26 and from 1pm to 3pm on March 2, the following roads will face closure (for buses and trucks) or limited access (for cars and motorbikes): National Route 1B (the section bordering Hanoi-Bac Ninh to the road leading to the Hanoi–Hai Phong Highway), the on and off ramps of the Bac Giang Highway and National Route 5, Nguyen Van Linh, Nguyen Van Cu, Cau Chuong Duong, Tran Quang Khai, Trang Tien, Ngo Quyen, Ly Thuong Kiet, Phan Chu Trinh and Tran Khanh Du.

From 7pm to 10pm on February 26 and from 11am to 5pm on February 28, the situation repeats for the following roads: Vo Nguyen Giap, Vo Chi Cong, Vanh Dai 2, Lang, Tran Duy Hung, Dai Lo Thang Long, Do Duc Duc, Mieu Dam and Pham Hung.

From 9am to 15pm on February 27, Do Duc Duc, Pham Hung, Tran Duy Hung, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Lieu Giai, Kim Ma, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Chu Van An, Dien Bien Phu, Doc Lap and Hoang Van Thu, Hung Vuong, Hoang Dieu and Tran Phu will be affected.

From 6am to 11pm on February 28, Ngo Quyen, Ly Thai To, Le Phung Hieu, Dinh Tien Hoang, Hang Bai, Le Lai, Le Thach, Trang Tien, Tran Nguyen Han and Tong Dan will face complete closure; while Do Duc Duc, Pham Hung, Tran Duy Hung, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Lieu Giai, Kim Ma, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Phan Boi Chau, Hai Ba Trung, Phan Chu Trinh, Ly Thai To, Le Phung Hieu, Ngo Quyen, Ly Thuong Kiet, Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Trang Thi and Tran Phu will be closed for buses and trucks and have limited access for cars and motorbikes.

Finally, from 2pm to 11pm on March 1, Ly Thuong Kiet, Quan Su, Trang Thi, Dien Bien Phu, Doc Lap, Hoang Van Thu, Hung Vuong, Hoang Dieu, Hai Ba Trung, Ba Trieu, Phan Chu Trinh, Tran Phu, Phan Boi Chau, Trang Tien and Le Thanh Tong will be closed for buses and trucks and have limited access for cars and motorbikes.
