In a story that seems like something out of an American newspaper, Saigon police took a bank executive into custody last week for pulling a gun on a taxi dispatcher during a dispute over a parking space.

The incident occurred on April 10 when 47-year-old Tran Thai Hoa pulled up to a building in District 7. When Hoa tried to back into a parking space, Huynh Thi Thanh Vy, a taxi dispatcher for Mai Linh, stood in the spot to show him that it was allotted to her company, reports Thanh Nien.
Upset, Hoa allegedly asked Vy numerous times if “she wanted to live or die” before pulling out a pistol.
After a taxi driver stepped in to break up the fracas, Hoa said that he would forgive the taxi dispatcher “though I can shoot her anytime I want.”
Angered by the comment, Vy told him “This is not a jungle,” prompting Hoa to put the gun to her face.
“It was very quick and firm. The gun hit my teeth, made me bleed,” Vy told the newspaper.
Hoa hid the gun and tried to flee the scene when building security showed up but was detained until police arrived.
"I was wrong. I was angry then," he told Tuoi Tre newspaper, adding that he panicked during the argument.
Hoa was able to produce a license that allows him to carry a gun though the bank wouldn’t specify as to why he needed one.
Be careful who you piss off on the streets of Saigon.
