7 Gunmen Arrested After Failed Rooster Robbery In Binh Thuan

A rooster robbery gone wrong resulted in gunshots and a police chase in the Southern province of Binh Thuan on Thursday night, reports Thanh Nien.

7 of the 8 would be robbers involved in the shooting were apprehended after a 3-hour chase that involved 100 police officers, numerous gunshots and a failed hostage-taking attempt.

After dispersing when police arrived at the scene, robbers used different tactics to escape arrest including hijacking a bus, occupying homes and inexplicably running into a prison.

A source told newspaper, “the gang was trying to take back money they'd lost in a recent cock fighting game.”

When it was all said and done, police had seized four guns and large sums of cash.

This is not the first time shots were fired in an animal-related robbery this year. In June, 3 HCMC men were killed when chasing after a group of dog thieves.
