Ariana Grande Cancels Saigon Concert 4 Hours Before Showtime

Saigon’s Arianators must be feeling devastated at the moment.

Local pop music fans were on cloud nine when American pop mega-star Ariana Grande confirmed back in June that she was coming to Saigon for a concert. According to plan, the pop chanteuse would hit the stage at the city’s Quan Khu 7 Stadium tonight as part of the Asian leg of her Dangerous Woman Tour.

However, just hours ago, Grande announced through an Instagram story that she was cancelling the Saigon show due to health problems.

“My babes in Vietnam, I apologize from the bottom of my heart but I’m really dealing with some health problems at the moment,” the message reads. “I came here to Vietnam, so excited to perform, my doctor won’t allow me to do the show for you tonight.”

She also apologized for the cancellation and promised to make it up to local fans in the near future.

According to a source from the show's organizer, reports Tuoi Tre, since her arrival yesterday, the 24-year-old singer has been suffering from a high fever of 42oC which still hasn't abated until today, prompting her to cancel the concert last minute.

It looks like Grande’s declaration came out of left field, as even the show’s official ticket distribution partner was not informed of the changes, and only found out via the Instagram story, as Zing reports. The company and Grande’s team are currently working out how to compensate fans who purchased tickets.

A representative from Pulse Active, the concert's local partner, confirmed the cancellation in a statement sent to Saigoneer.

"We regret to inform you that Ariana Grande, who arrived in Vietnam yesterday for a show in Ho Chi Minh City will be not be able to perform tonight due to illness," the statement reads. "She has been suffering for the past week and has been advised by doctor to rest again. She has sent her deepest regrets to her loving Vietnamese fans and promises to make it up to them in the future. Thank you for your understanding. Please standy [sic] for further information."
