It looks like Vietnam Airlines is finally getting on the WIFI bandwagon with the company announcing that the service would be making its debut on its aircraft this May.

According to Thanh Nien, inflight WIFI will be offered on its fleets of Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A350s before being made available on all flights.
For passengers traveling on international routes, the service will set you back $15 - $20 and may be offered free-of-charge on domestic flights, Vietnam Airlines CEO Pham Ngoc Minh told VTC last Friday.
If you’re dreaming of in flight calls on Viber and Zalo, you’ll be out of luck as their use will be prohibited. However, if you’re an Apple user, you may be able to contact the outside world via FaceTime.
WIFI is beginning to become the norm in Vietnam, a country’s whose internet penetration rate has been skyrocketing in recent years. To meet demand, similar services are now available on other modes of domestic transportation including some Vietnamese trains and HCMC busses.
