BackStories » Vietnam » [Video] Da Nang Daredevil Arrested for 'Driving' While Standing on Motorbike Seat

Do not try this at home. Or anywhere else, for that matter.

The Da Nang Police Department shared with Tuoi Tre that on Monday, August 21, they took into custody Le Huu Tho, a local daredevil whose dangerous bike trick has been making the rounds on social media over the last few days.

According to the official police report, around 10:30pm on August 20, police officers based in the city's Ngu Hanh Son District encountered Tho on a local street. At the time, the 30-year-old was standing helmet-less on the back of his bike at speed. The police quickly stopped him and brought him back to the precinct for questioning.

At the station, Tho confessed that he: “saw the trick online and wanted to do the same because it looks like fun.” This wasn’t the first time he had done this on the street, as on August 7, a car owner managed to catch Tho’s stunt on tape with their dashboard cam.

The news source didn’t go into detail on how the Da Nang daredevil would be penalized for his dangerous actions.
