[Video] Two Railway Flagwomen Save Elderly Woman Seconds Before the Train Comes

The incident happened on Nguyen Thanh Phuong Road in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province.

On February 12, at Hang Dau level crossing, an old woman tried to cross the street despite all gates being closed. Two flagwomen stationed at the crossing received the signal to open the barrier so that the train could pass through.

While crossing the railroad, the old woman tripped and fell to the ground. The two conductors swooped in and managed to drag out of the way just seconds before the train approach, Tuoi Tre reports. Their brave act was caught on camera and later went viral online as netizens praised the two railway staff members for their quick reflex. They also received a reward from the city's department of transportation.

The two employees were later revealed to be 35-year-old Nguyen Thi Minh and 23-year-old Do Thi Lan. According to Lan, the old woman has tried to cross several times earlier, but Lan stopped her.

"When the train was only 30-40 meters away, the old woman suddenly ran across the railroad. When she made it to the middle of the railroad, she saw the train and fell. Minh saw and rushed towards her while I screamed to alert everyone and followed Minh to drag the woman out of the railway."

"I didn't think of anything at that moment, I just saved her out of instinct, didn't want her to get hit. After that as I recalled the incident I was trembling in fear, now I just want the shift to end to come home to my family," Lan added.

The woman, 77-year-old Phan Thi Cam, has a minor injury on her face, but is otherwise unscathed.
