Mobile phones may be linked to brain cancer and have been known to shock people from time-to-time, but there’s a far more dangerous threat to those who enjoy chit chatting in the middle of a thunderstorm – lightning.
Last Sunday afternoon, Lo Van Chung was talking on his phone while wadding in a Dien Bien Province rice field. At about 4:30pm, lightning struck and Chung was killed instantly while 6 others nearby suffered burns, reports Tuoi Tre.
The 6 survivors were taken to a local hospital.
A similar strike occurred in April in the same province, killing 2 and injuring 8.
Take care when wadding around in rice paddies, people!
