While an emergency landing is already unnerving enough, the Czech pilot accidentally pressed the in the Hijacking code (7500) button instead of the Emergency code (7700) causing ground staff to prepare for a hijacking scenario as the code implies someone forcing their way into the cockpit, according to the Tuoi Tre.
The flight carrying 135 passengers and 7 crew experienced technical problems involving the loss of cabin pressure right before its descent into Vinh.
The plane abruptly descended from their cruising altitude of 35,000 feet to 13,000 feet causing oxygen masks to drop to compensate for the loss in cabin pressure.
The plane landed safely at Hanoi’s Noi Ba airport with no injuries reported.
