Dang Viet Dung, director of Uber Vietnam, said that the company would roll out the cash payment system later this year and eliminate the credit card requirement to register for the service, reports Thanh Nien.
Dung added that Uber is looking to expand to Da Nang and Nha Trang in the near future after “very good growth” in Hanoi and Saigon.
The company is also planning to offer new services like UberChopper and UberPool in Vietnam, he said.
UberChopper, a helicopter version of the service, was launched in Bangkok in June.
UberPool allows passengers to share their vehicle with other customers, reducing fare costs to a price point on par with a bus ticket.
Uber, valued at US$50 billion, has operations in 329 cities and 59 countries.
