Between the safari park business, the luxury housing business and the convenience store business, Vingroup has a lot on its plate. Last week, however, the mega corporation added fresh, greenhouse-grown vegetables to the mix.
According to Tuoi Tre, Vingroup subsidiary VinEco debuted its baby vegetables and hydroponic produce at Vinmart and Vinmart+ locations throughout northern Vietnam.
The company's vegetables are grown in Vinh Phuc province using Israeli technology and include broccoli, watercress, kale, romaine lettuce and more. By growing its produce in greenhouses, the news outlet explains, VinEco can protect its vegetables from insects without the use of pesticides.
By the end of this year, VinEco aims to expand its operation to 55 hectares of greenhouse space and 120 hectares of farmland across the northern and southern regions as well as in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
