The nearly eight-minute film features time lapses of Da Nang and Saigon, Hanoi and Nha Trang as well as aerial footage of Vietnam's natural landscapes set to some pretty intense instrumental music.
According to Tuoi Tre, the video was released in nine languages, including Vietnamese, English, Spanish, Russian and French.
Director Do Duc Thanh told Tuoi Tre that the video was a collaborative effort, as many amateur filmmakers contributed video footage to the project.
In the days since its release, local media has reported on the reactions of both foreign and Vietnamese viewers. Overall, the film was hailed as an important step in promoting Vietnam to foreign tourists, though some have suggested that the video should be made shorter to appeal to potential visitors.
If you ask us, between the musical score and varying quality of the footage, the sweeping landscapes and the many shots of women in áo dài, this video is a pretty accurate representation of Vietnam.
