Home to sprawling pagodas and incredible natural scenery, northern Vietnam's Ninh Binh now makes regular appearances on travelers' itineraries, often for its most famous attraction, Tam Coc.
But while Tam Coc's rice paddies and towering limestone karsts have earned Ninh Binh the moniker “Ha Long on land”, the small town also houses ASEAN's largest Buddhist pagoda, Bai Dinh. Stretching 700 hectares, the massive complex consists of five levels, and the two corridors which run the length of the complex cover a total of 3.4 kilometers.
