In China, human hair is a renewable resource, where it is fused with natural resins to mimic everything from tortoiseshell to polished horn to exotic hardwoods.
The billion-dollar Chinese hair trade is captured in this sort film, "Hair Highway," a collaboration between Studio Swine and filmmaker Juriaan Booij.
The film, part of National Geographic’s Short Film Showcase, takes viewers through the entire process, “from haircut to final product.”
