When it comes to filmmaking, Vietnam's natural beauty has attracted a fair amount of international attention in recent years. Just a few months back, the cast of Kong: Skull Islandincluding the great Samuel L. Jackson – turned up to shoot in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, while Hugh Jackman's Pan featured aerial scenes of Vietnam.

For small, independent filmmakers, however, the country's appeal tends to be largely in travel-related, documentary-style videos. For this reason, Yves-Gaël Jacak's film The Path is a rare find. The story, which is set in an unnamed, remote location in Vietnam, tells the story of a young woman who stumbles upon a strange object in the middle of a rice paddy.

Using a single actress and an eerie soundtrack to push his story forward, Jacak's film takes a turn for the weird about halfway through, shifting toward a sci-fi theme, but Vietnam's stunning natural scenery features heavily throughout the movie. See for yourself below:
