When Vietnam is mentioned around the world, the country often conjures up images of phở, bánh mì, streets of jam-packed traffic and áo dài.

As Vietnam’s national costume and the unofficial garment of formal events and hotel receptionists across the nation, it follows that áo dài are also a common fixture in traditional weddings throughout Vietnam.

In this video, the folks at BuzzFeed shine a spotlight on some of Asia’s most mesmerizing wedding gowns, including an elegant Vietnamese wedding outfit complete with a red áo dài, an embroidered see-through jacket and a khăn đóng (circular headdress).
