To take advantage of the Thao Dien stop on the city’s first metro line, developers are planning to build Masteri, a sprawling mixed-use project which will be integrated with the neighborhood’s above ground station.
The developers, Thao Dien Investment Corporation and Vingroup are banking on the speedy completion of the Bến Thành - Suối Tiên line (which has already been delayed by 2 years) for the 8-hectare project that will include 4 towers, each 40 – 43 stories, a 120,000m2 Vincom Mega Center Mall, lakes, parks and a modern school, according to REIC.

Financed by Techcombank, the project was officially started on 2/16/2014 and is expected to be completed by January 2016, a full 4 years before the metro is scheduled to be put into operation.
Expect to see plenty more luxury developments like this to sprout up in Thao Dien and An Phu over the next few years. Like many areas that will eventually be served by the metro, affluent buyers who have the cash to live in the city will likely opt for the comparatively clean and quiet areas of District 2.
