[Photos] Put Your Mind at Ease in Saigon's Zen House

Embodying its name, every element of the Zen House revolves around harmony, mindfulness and originality, making this contemporary structure more a monastery than a home for the three Buddhist owners.

Zen House mostly consists of basic, natural materials – unrefined brick, raw wood, ferrous iron, unpainted cemboard – and is filled with natural light from its glass roof, which is flanked by wooden louvers, according to Dezeen.

Designed by Vietnamese firm HA, the four-story residence is located in Binh Thanh District. Despite having few external windows, the house's central atrium sheds light on all floors of the house. By utilizing the house's natural lighting and traditional architecture, the folks at HA were able to play up a series of decorative schemes, such as the geometric metal screens which cover Zen House's windows, creating shadow patterns across the house's concrete block interior.
