What better way to celebrate Earth Day?

In honor of Eath Day, held on April 22 every year, Saigoneers have the opportunity to check out the first-ever Sustainability Matters event being held tonight at The Hive Villa Saigon in District 2.

The event will feature brands and vendors that focus on sustainability, such as Plastic People and Bynature, ethical food and drinks from the likes of insect protein startup Cricket One, a panel discussion with a Q&A, and a film screening.

Additionally, attendees will be able to test-drive products from MODMO, the Saigon-based electric bicycle startup that just bagged US$1.2 million in investment, and Dat Bike, the Vietnamese electric motorbike startup which recently received a round of international investment worth US$2.6 million.

Sustainability Matters begins at 5:30pm, with MODMO and Dat Bike test rides running from 6pm. The panel discussion on issues surrounding sustainability is from 6pm to 7pm, while a screening of the 2014 documentary Cowspiracy and subsequent talk about sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Vietnam takes place from 7:30pm to 9pm.

The event is free to attend. The Hive Villa Saigon is located at 29 Nguyen Ba Lan Street in Thao Dien Ward, District 2.

Saigoneer is the media sponsor of Sustainability Matters: Earth Day.
