The Japanese really know how to take shit to the next level. Next level brothel? Check! Next level hamburger? Check! Blinged-out transformer trucks? Double check! The pictures in the gallery below showcase Dekotora, the Japanese subculture of truck drivers adding as many lights and metallic objects as possible to their vehicles.
And the results are spectacular.
The fad began in 1975 with the release of the film Torakku Yarō (Truck Guys) where the main character zooms around Japan in his awesome truck. Viewers of all ages were immediately drawn in and those who were real-life truck drivers adopted the style.
The style has been heavily influenced by Gundam in recent years and varies slightly by region.
