Back Society » Tech » It's Official: Ride-Hailing App Go-Viet Launches Service in Saigon's Inner Districts

Go-Viet is the name of the Vietnamese ride-hailing company under a partnership with Indonesian giant Go-Jek.

Starting from today, August 1, Go-Viet will officially launch its bike-hailing and shipping service to mass users in 12 central districts in Ho Chi Minh City including District 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, Tan Binh, Binh Thanh, and Phu Nhuan, Thanh Nien reports. The Go-Viet app is currently available for download on Android. The platform is still being developed for iOS systems and expected to be launched in early August.

According to Go-Viet representatives, the platform will launch its car service and extend its operation to other provinces and cities outside of Ho Chi Minh city in September. It's unclear at the time of writing if the platform is going to include the rest of Saigon's urban districts consisting of District 8, 9, 12, Thu Duc, Go Vap, Tan Phu, Binh Tan and the city's suburban area.

On July 18, Go-Viet released its beta program in District 1 and District 3 to 500 registered users.

"Go-Viet's beta program has been very successful. We were very happy to receive positive feedbacks [sic] as well as satisfaction from users in these first trials. Alongside with our operating location's extension, the app is now available for download and we welcome everyone to try our service," said co-founder and CEO of Go-Viet Nguyen Vu Duc.
