Dong Nguyen Brings 'Flappy Bird' Back To Life

Get ready for an uptick in your blood pressure. Flappy Bird is back.

The new version, Flappy Birds 'Family', currently available only in the Amazon App store, includes new features such as choice of 3 characters and multiplayer functionality, reports Tuoi Tre.

“Flappy Birds now are on Amazon Fire TV with incredible new features: Person vs Person mode, more obstacles, more fun and still very hard. Enjoy playing the game at home (not breaking your TV) with your family and friends,” according to the Amazon description.

In terms of gameplay, things remain similar to the original with exception of having to navigate around hovering ghosts.

The hottest app to ever come out of Vietnam is currently only available in the aforementioned Amazon App store for use on the Amazon Fire TV. It’s unclear when it will be made available in the iTunes and Google Play stores.

Amid rumors that he was raking in $50,000/day from in-game ads, Nguyen abruptly pulled ‘Flappy Bird’ earlier this year, citing its addictive qualities (which were confirmed when he received death threats for removing the app) and constant hounding by the press.

It remains to be seen if the new version will reach the popularity of the original which reached the #1 spot in Apple and Google’s app store in January.
