[Video] Filmmaker Captures the Many Faces of Vietnam

On a thousand-mile journey from the furthest reaches of northern Vietnam to the hot, sunny streets of Saigon, filmmaker Fabien Echochard captures the optimism of the Vietnamese people in beautiful detail.

From giggling schoolchildren to old women smoking thuốc lào, Echochard shows not only the country’s ethnic diversity but also its range of lifestyles, from sleepy mountain villages to fishing settlements along the coast. And yet, for the many walks of life he finds in Vietnam, Echochard manages to draw them together in the smiles of his subjects.
