Back Society » Development » [Slideshow] Views from Sunrise City Tower: Massive Suburbanization in District 7

These photos were taken from Sunrise City, a high-rise tower in the new urban area located within District 7 opposite Lotte Mart. Still under construction, Sunrise City will consist of 14 high-rise towers and an extensive town-house compound after completion.

Right now, the entire surrounding area is under heavy development: In the course of socially, highly selective suburbanization, the new middle and upper class people are moving out of the city, contributing to rising traffic volume due to their reliance on cars.

Michael Waibel, editor of the TP. Hồ Chí Minh: MEGA City photo book took these photos from the roofof a 32 floor tower of Sunrise City in March 2013 and again in March 2014. Some of the photos shown will be included in the planned November release of the second edition of TP. Hồ Chí Minh: MEGA City
