[Photos] Vietnamese Artist Imagines A More Beautiful Hanoi

There’s plenty to love about Hanoi, but sometimes the electricity wires, dirty canals and abandoned construction sites leave a lot to be desired.

Phan Thanh Tung, a local photographer and graphic designer, used his skills to imagine a more aesthetically pleasing city with his collection “If Hanoi were a little different.”

"My first photo was of Nguyen Hong Street. Previously, the street was actually a polluted canal but it was made into a road. Personally I don't think such a drastic solution was needed, just a little change," Tung told DTI News.

"I grew up in these streets and have seen their transformation first hand. Through these photos, I want to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment. I also hope that urban planning in will improve in Hanoi," he added.

If you like these images, be sure to check out a similar project from Saigon Makeover which concluded last month.
