Design Competition Seeking Your Ideas On How To Make Saigon More Beautiful

Saigoneer is proud to be the media sponsor for Saigon Makeover, a new design competition for graphic designers, artists and young people at large to share their creative vision of how different parts of HCMC can be beautified.

Check out some of the submissions the project has received so far to get your creative juices flowing (descriptions provided by the submitters).

Saigon Rainbow (Dong Lam Thanh Tung - Top Image)

When visiting Thu Thiem bridge, Tung overheard a conversation where a child was complaining to the mother that the bridge was dark and scary and wanted to leave. In response, Tung's design aims to revitalize the bridge to seem brighter and more friendly for people and families.

Thu Thiem Bridge (Truong Tuan Vu)

Here the tunnel of the bridge will look like a bird with colorful wings, ready to fly, full of freed and full of longing.

Apartment Building (Truong Tuan Vu)

Looking at this apartment building with old concrete patches, Vu's design brings a vivid array of colors from a cubist painting, that links the four concrete walls.

Pinwheels (Pham Lan Anh)

Living in a big city with a fast pace of life sometimes makes us feel harsh. A colorful pinwheel field maybe an escape place for us, a place to remind old memories, to rest and refresh ourselves. Moreover, it can become a playground and a tourist attraction at the same time. Some brilliant pinwheels on a green yard will be a unique view in a tropical country like Vietnam.

Recycled Bottle Structure at 30/4 Park (Nguyen Trung Tuc)

At 30/4 park, Dong Tuc has designed a colorful structure made from recycled water bottles to create a colorful space in the park and bring the fun and meaningful message that rubbish can be turned into beauty.
