In 1975, an American news crew boarded what was presumably a military chopper as part of their report on Saigon.
The propagandist narration provides some interesting tidbits, including the fact that at the time, Saigon was the most densely populated city in the world - “If you superimposed Paris and London on Tokyo, you’d have an idea of how crowded it is,” said the newsman.
The low-flying helicopter hovered over some of Saigon’s most iconic buildings such as Ben Thanh Market and the Opera House, showing that at the time, the city still retained much of its colonial architecture. By the way, that’s a train station next to the Market.
