This year will see a new collaborative opportunity for Vietnamese sound artists, which will culminate in performances, sound installations and live acts where the audience takes part in an audiovisual sound journey.
Hanoi-based project partner Undecided Productions is teaming up with Berlin-based experimental music event organizer Blind Signal to deliver the program. The live performances will take place in Hanoi on April 22–30, and in Berlin on September 17–22, with the latter shows taking place in a church in the German capital.
Blind Signal started in 2015 as an event series focused on promoting contemporary and New Music by Berlin-based international artists. Through this work, Blind Signal realized the wealth of the contemporary music scene in Berlin could be celebrated via cultural exchanges with more geographically distant places. Their first proposal is for an exchange with artists in Vietnam.
The main goal of the project is to link Berlin-based sound artists with Vietnamese counterparts. In Hanoi, Blind Signal intends to create several live events where Germany-based artists Antye Greie-Ripatti (AGF aka poemproducer), Gil Delindro and Julius Holtz can collaborate with Vietnamese artists, giving all the opportunity to create rich new works.
This project aims to develop connections between Vietnam and Germany by offering participant artists not only the possibility of performing in a different context, but above all the chance to collaborate with artists from different backgrounds.
The application process is now open for Vietnamese artists for both the Hanoi and Berlin events – the deadline is January 15. Download the application form here.
