2 Foreigners Arrested for iPhone Snatching

In a reminder that crime transcends race, 2 foreigners were arrested last Friday for stealing an iPhone from a local woman in District 1.

The 2 thieves were identified as Sean Douglas, 17, an Australian national, and De Oliveira Grimbert Nicolas, 18, of Brazil.

According to police, on the night in question, the 2 boys were driving around District 1 looking for easy prey when they encountered N.T.T.H., 21 who was using her phone in front of the Vincom A building on Nguyen Hue Street.

After snatching the phone, the pair drove off only to be apprehended by police a short time later.

When questioned by police, the duo, who reside in Thao Dien, admitted that they stole the phone “because they needed money for personal use.”

No word on if the accused will be prosecuted or deported.

Judging by Grimbert’s Facebook profile, “money for personal use” translates to “money for bottle service at Fuse and Lush.”
