Saigon is getting ready to join the subway club, starting with the Bến Thành Market - Suối Tiên line which is set to open in 2018.

While the above ground portion along the North-South highway has been underway for years, last week construction began in the city center, promising to change the face of the area forever.

After hearing that they were cutting down century old trees and closing off the street from traffic, we headed down to Lê Lợi Street last Friday to check out the progress.
