Vingroup's Smartphones Are Now Officially Available in Russia

Vingroup’s smartphone brand, VinSmart, has hit its third international market.

On October 3, the multi-sector corporation held a launching ceremony in Moscow introducing four of its smartphones — Vsmart Live, Vsmart Joy 2+, Vsmart Star and Vsmart Bee — Zing reports. The phones are the company's newest models since its launch in June 2018.

The phones are equipped with the newest version of the Android operating system, with prices ranging from RUB4,990 (US$77) to RUB16,990 (US$262). VinSmart’s official distributor is TFN Trading, a company based in Riga, Latvia.

Yulia Klebanova, vice president of business development for Qualcomm Europe, told the news source that VinSmart is entering Russia at a time as a 5G network is under development in the nation. This technology will be an important feature in the series of phones that VinSmart will introduce to Russian users in the future.

Sergey Sadkov, sales director of VinSmart Russia, said that since Vietnamese goods are quite popular among a considerable section of the Russian population, the brand has an opportunity to succeed in the market.

Back in March of this year, VinSmart launched its phones in Spain, where they are distributed through Media Markt, a European consumer electronics retailer. Two months later, in May, the smartphone arm of the conglomerate announced its presence in Myanmar, with a partnership with Strong Source Group as a distributor.
