My grandfather, like George Costanza, used to boast that, given a location in New York City, he could tell you where to find the nearest public restroom. With the emergence of smartphones, numerous developers have released apps to aid those looking for a toilet in an unfamiliar place. Now this concept has been applied to Saigon with the app – Toilet Finder.
Built by 17-year-old, Tran Diep Bang, the app (Android only for now), using Google Map data and your phone's GPS, will spit out a map with the closest restrooms in your location. This could be especially helpful for tourists since locals and expats know the deal and just pee on the street, into a canal or onto a wall. Just kidding! But not really…
The app is available in both English and Vietnamese.
