Vietnamese Tech Startup of the Month – August Edition

As Vietnamese tech startups gain popularity and increased funding, the potential for growth in this market is massive.

TechinAsia, our favorite source for tech-related content in Vietnam, does an excellent job keeping us updated on the local startup scene.

Each month, we take a look back and choose one Vietnamese startup that piqued our interest.

Here’ our pick for August:

Dtrack

Founded 6 months ago by Vo Duy Thanh Thanh, Dtrack is basically a digital analytics company seeking to take advantage of Asia’s growing online advertising market, which, according to eMarketer, will reach $53 billion by 2016.

While digital marketing and analytics have been driving massive budgets from traditional media to online in the West for the last decade, this progression is still in its infancy stages for local companies in developing countries.

Online is the future of advertising – it is trackable, actionable, cheap and based on real data as opposed to outdoor, print and TV which are notorious for quoting bogus statistics.

If Dtrack is successful, it could be a major player in moving advertising dongs (don’t you dare laugh) online in Vietnam.
